Connecting RFID Readers
Both of the RFID readers we have designed Grey Trunk to use will work with both iOS and Android devices. Below are instructions to connect the RFID reader to your mobile device as well as some common troubleshooting options.
First, try and connect the reader through the app.
*Ensure that your Bluetooth is on along with the reader.
*Head to the Menu button in the app.
- Next, select 'My Devices.'
- A screen will appear with two options, "Paired Devices" and "Available Devices."
- If this is your first time pairing the device, it should be under the available devices after you scan.
- If the reader has been paired with your mobile device before or it has connected successfully, it will appear under paired devices.
*If you have a Zebra reader, you will then pull the trigger on the reader when the blue Bluetooth light on the side of the reader is blinking rapidly. If you have a TSL reader, it will beep to ensure you know the connection has been made.
- After a successful connection, a menu will appear in which you select the Reader Transmit Power.
- Select the desired power, then click on "Set Power" to continue.
Second, if the reader does not connect through the app, try to connect via the Bluetooth menu on your mobile device
*If you have an iOS device, head to the settings and select Bluetooth. Your reader will show up under 'other devices'. Select your reader to connect to your device. Again, if you are using a Zebra, pull the trigger when the blue Bluetooth light is blinking rapidly to complete the connection.
*If you have an Android device, head to settings, connected devices, and select Bluetooth. Click the 'refresh' icon at the top of the screen. Once you have refreshed, your reader will appear under 'available devices'. Click to connect. Again, if you are using a Zebra, pull the trigger when the blue Bluetooth light is blinking rapidly to complete the connection.
